What is in-app coaching?
Our in-app coaching feature provides proactive prompts and guidance to users when managing their contract(s), based on:
- the form of contract they use, i.e. NEC4 ECC
- the role under the contract they perform, i.e. Project Manager
- where the contract is in its life cycle, i.e. just starting/finishing
Users can choose to enrol on this coaching programme to help guide and remind them of the key tasks they should complete at key stages in the contract.
Once enrolled, a checklist will appear at the bottom right of the screen, providing coaching tips about tasks that typically need completing at the stage that their contract is at. These tips are tailored based on the user's role under the contract, the start and completion dates of the project, and the form of contract; if a user is managing several forms of contract the coaching is tailored to support each contract type. For example, if a Project Manager is managing both an NEC3 ECC Contract and an NEC4 ECC Contract, the coaching tips and checklists will adapt for these two different contracts, so they are coached for each type of contract.
When a user clicks an item on the checklist the user will be directed to the relevant draft form and be provided with on-screen prompts and guidance.
The checklist is unique for each contract user, so if another user is working on the same contract, this checklist will not appear on their screen unless they have enrolled on the coaching programme as well. Likewise, if a user has already actioned something , for example Added Early Warnings without using the checklist, the checklist will remained unchecked.
If the user decides not to save or communicate the notification, there are two things to note.
- The checklist will show with a line crossed through the item and a percentage showing of checklist items completed.
- The user can always click back into that item and will be taken again to the above screen.
How does it work?
Three simple steps:
- Accept the invite to enrol in in-app coaching
- Browse to one of your NEC3 ECC/NEC4 ECC contracts, and the checklist will appear in the bottom right of the screen
- Click an item that you want to action or understand, and it will redirect you to the relevant draft workflow forms with on-screen tips
- Return to the contract dashboard and the checklist will reappear
Users can also deactivate the programme after enrolment if they wish, and still access in-app tips via the tutorial and notification centre in the top right of the screen.
What contract forms and roles do you support?
We currently support the NEC3 Project Manager and Contractor roles, and NEC4 Project Manager and Contractor roles. We are working on supporting JCT and FIDIC forms of contract, and the wider NEC Contract Suite.
How will it help me manage my contracts?
In-app coaching works differently to the RAG report and reminders, which reactively prompt you to action things raised by the other party. Many actions need to be done by users at the start/end of a contract because the contract states they must be done, and are not triggered by the other parties' actions. In-app coaching proactively coaches based on a proprietary algorithm that segments users based on their roles and contract types, and gives tailored tips.
How do I sign up?
You can self-enrol on the in-app coaching from either the pop-up banner, or via the notifications centre in the top right corner of your browser.
FAQs
How much does it cost?
The feature is included free of charge for all users.
What happens if I decide not to save or communicate the notification?
For simplicity the checklist will mark off each item once you have seen the on-screen tip. You can always click back into that item, and you will be taken again to the above screen.
If I am managing two or more contracts of the same type, is the coaching tailored to each contract?
No, for simplicity we only provide and track coaching tips once for each contract type and role.
Can in-app coaching provide tips of best practice on contract management and company policy?
Yes. Please speak with our sales team to discuss your needs.
