How to Use the Project Order Workflow

Introduction

According to NEC:

"Project Orders are a secondary option, which are different to Service Orders as they allow the Client to instruct additional work which has a level of complexity, coordination and risk which requires a programme for its execution and which may include changes or additions to the Scope and the Price List."

We have created a new Project Order Workflow on the NEC4 FMC contract template to cater for the following clauses:

• Clause 19 Service Orders
• Option clause X27 Project Orders

How to Use Project Order Workflows

• Within the left-hand navigation panel, select Service Manager Project Orders.

• Select Create New

• Fill out the form, as appropriate.

• Select Create Draft.

• The page will refresh and you will be able to see your draft Project Order. Here, you can make any changes needed, as well as add any relevant attachments.

• Back in the Project Order Register, you will be able to see in the Status column that the Project Order is 'Not Communicated'. 

• To communicate the Project Order, select the draft and click the Communicate Project Order button.

• Within the Project Order register, the Project Order status will now update to 'Communicated'. 

New Features

A new Aggregate Report has also been created named "ProjectOrder" with the same layout as the existing ServiceOrder report.

The Contract dashboard has also been updated to include an additional line for Project Orders (to appear below Service Orders [where applicable] and before New Price). 

Dashboard logic has also been updated so that New Price appears if either Task Orders and/or Project Orders are enabled. 

The Compensation Event forms have been updated to allow a Compensation Event to be associated with a Project Order in the same way a Compensation Event can be associated with a Service Order and the effect of Compensation Events on Project Orders have also been tracked in the Project Orders register in the same way they currently are in the Service Order register. 

As with Service Orders, Project Order dates have been added to the Secondary Dates table and classified as such so that when a CE is associated with a Project Order the only secondary dates that can be selected are those associated with the selected Project Order (i.e. replicating the same logic that already exists for Service Orders).
