Understanding Global Resources

This article is a guide to understanding Global Resources in FastDraft.

This guide contains the following:

Introduction

Global Resources can be found in both individual contract templates and master templates. There are a number of global resources with different functions, but their primary purpose is for labelling as well as managing a contract's periods for reply. Below is a list of every available global resource, along with a description of its purpose.

Note: even if a global resource has not been added to the list from the dropdown, it will still be used with the default number of days/terminology that has been configured provided there is something in the template that uses that particular global resource. Adding it to the list allows you to change the default setting but does not mean it will/won't be used.

Party names

SUPPLIER_NAME - The name of the Supplier party (e.g. Contractor for an ECC, Subcontractor for an ECS, etc.).

SUPPLIER_ABBREVIATION - Abbreviated version of the above, used for reference IDs.

PM_NAME - The name of the Contract Administrator party (e.g. Project Manager for an ECC, Contractor for an ECS, etc.).

PM_ABBREVIATION - Abbreviated version of the above, used for reference IDs.

SUPERVISOR_NAME - The name of the Supervisor party ('Supervisor' in almost all contract types with some exceptions, such as NEC4 ALC).

SUPERVISOR_ABBREVIATION - Abbreviated version of the above, used for reference IDs.

CLIENT_NAME - The name of the Client party (e.g. Employer for an NEC4 ECC, Client for an NEC3 ECC).

CLIENT_ABBREVIATION - Abbreviated version of the above, used for reference IDs.

Date terminology

COMPLETION_DATE - How 'Completion' is referred to for the contract type (e.g. Completion Date for an ECC, Service Period for a TSC).

DEFECTS_DATE - How 'Defects' is referred to for the contract type (e.g. Defect Date for NEC4 ECC)

Deemed Acceptance

QUOTE_DEEMED_ACCEPTANCE - The number of days for Deemed Acceptance to be implemented against a CE quote.

QUOTE_DEEMED_ACCEPTANCE_STARTS - Select whether Deemed Acceptance for CE quotes is switched off, set to start immediately, or only once a related notice is communicated.

CEN_DEMED_ACCEPTANCE - The number of days for Deemed Acceptance to be implemented against a Compensation Event.

CEN_DEEMED_ACCEPTANCE_STARTS - Select whether Deemed Acceptance for Compensation Events is switched off, set to start immediately, or only once a related notice is communicated.

PROG_DEEMED_ACCEPTANCE - The number of days for Deemed Acceptance to be implemented against a Programme.

PROG_DEEMED_ACCEPTANCE_STARTS - Select whether Deemed Acceptance for Programmes is switched off, set to start immediately, or only once a related notice is communicated.

Party reply periods

SUPPLIER_REPLY_PERIOD - The number of days the Supplier party has to reply to the following notices:

  • PM Early Warning
  • PM Submission

And the number of days the Supplier party has to resubmit the following notices:

  • Supplier Submission
  • Supplier Programme
  • Supplier Submission with Quote

PM_REPLY_PERIOD - The number of days the PM party has to reply to the following notices:

  • Supplier Early Warning
  • Supplier Submission
  • Supplier Submission with Quote

And the number of days the PM party has to resubmit the following notices:

  • PM Submission

SUPERVISOR_REPLY_PERIOD - The number of days the Supervisor party has to reply to a notice.

CLIENT_REPLY_PERIOD - The number of days the Client party has to reply to a notice.

VARIATION_RESPONSE - The number of days the PM party has to reply to the following notices:

  • Supplier Compensation Event
  • Supplier Claims
  • Supplier CE (Short Term)
  • Client Compensation Event

Workflow reply times

QUOTE_DURATION - The number of days the Supplier party has to provide an initial quotation.

REQUOTE_DURATION - The number of days the Supplier party has to provide a requote.

QUOTE_RESPONSE - The number of days the PM party has to reply to an initial quotation.

REQUOTE_RESPONSE - The number of days the PM party has to reply to a requote.

PROP_QUOTE_DURATION - The number of days the Supplier party has to provide a Proposed Instruction quote.

PROP_REQUOTE_DURATION - The number of days the Supplier party has to provide a Proposed Instruction requote.

CWN_QUOTE_DURATION - The number of days the Supplier party has to provide a Claims with Notice quote.

CWN_QUOTE_RESPONSE - The number of days the PM party has to reply to a Claims with Notice quote.

CWN_ASSESS_DURATION - The number of days the PM party has to assess a Claims with Notice.

INTERIM_CWN_QUOTE_DURATION - The number of days the Supplier party has to provide a Claims with Notice interim quote.

INTERIM_CWN_QUOTE_RESPONSE - The number of days the PM party has to reply to a Claims with Notice interim quote.

PROGRAMME_REPLY_PERIOD - The number of days the PM party has to reply to the Supplier Programme.

RFQ/ITQ reply times

RFQ_QUOTE_DURATION - The number of days the Supplier party has to provide an RFQ quote.

RFQ_REQUOTE_DURATION - The number of days the Supplier party has to provide an RFQ requote.

RFQ_QUOTE_RESPONSE - The number of days the PM party has to reply to an RFQ quote.

RQF_REQUOTE_RESPONSE - The number of days the PM party has to reply to an RFQ requote.

ITQ_QUOTE_DURATION - The number of days the Supplier party has to provide an IFQ quote.

ITQ_REQUOTE_DURATION - The number of days the Supplier party has to provide an IFQ requote.

ITQ_QUOTE_RESPONSE - The number of days the PM party has to reply to an IFQ quote.

ITQ_REQUOTE_RESPONSE - The number of days the PM party has to reply to an RFQ requote.
