Managing NEC4 ECC Compensation Events Notifications
This course provides an overview of the Compensation Events notifications.
In this course we will:
1. Distinguish between the timing of actual events and their related administration,
2. Learn, in detail, about notifying Compensation Events and instructing quotations including who can notify, timescales for doing so, sanctions for not following the process and assumptions that can be given.
3. Learn about the different procedure for proposed instructions.
Consequently, learners will be better able to fulfil their obligations under the contract.
Assessing NEC4 ECC Compensation Events
This course explains the assessment of Compensation Events as set out under clause 63. It also covers in detail, the rules for assessing both time and cost in the Contractor's quotations or a Project Manager's assessment. In addition, it also outlines the additional clauses to do with assessing Compensation Events which are specific to the different main options. It does not cover either of the two Schedule of Cost Components, which are covered in separate courses.
After studying this course, you should be able to:-
1. Explain the key rules for assessing compensation quotations in respect of time and cost.
2. Highlight some practical examples of common pitfalls.
3. Highlight some of the unique rules that apply to assessing Compensation Event under specific main options.
This course focuses on the Compensation Event definitions in core clause 60.1.
At the end of the course, learners will be better able to:
1. Decide whether an event which happens on their contract is or is not a Compensation Event
2. Avoid some of the pitfalls which prevent the efficient operation of these clauses
